Things are heating up around Gator Moto Utility Vehicles these days.  Our Parts Department is expanding, and we’ve upgraded with new software.  We’re also adding new products to our inventory.

Jeff Bowers, our Parts Coordinator, reminds you that good battery maintenance is key to the smooth operation of your LSV.  Here are a few important things to remember:

• Do not allow plates to be exposed to air.
• Do not fill water all the way up to the cap
• Do not use water with a high mineral content.  Use only distilled or de-ionized water.

Greetings Sports Fans!

This weekend’s NFL games should be huge!  The creme of the teams has risen to the top.  One team we will be rooting for is the New York Jets.  (It is notable that the last time these two teams met in a big game — Super Bowl III — the Colts were the Baltimore Colts.)  How times change!  Sure wish there were more “Broadway Joes” in the NFL these days!

We have a purely business reason for wanting the Jets to win.  Their off-season camp was one of the first purchasers related to the NFL to buy one of our electric EMS vehicles (see our Low Speed Vehicle Page).  GatorMoto Utility Vehicles has had much success with this vehicle, selling it to local fire departments, the military and several federal prisons.

GatorMoto Utility Vehicles’ emergency vehicle division is also looking forward to being represented at this year’s Mardi Gras celebrations.  Fat Tuesday is February 16th.  So, be careful!  A GatorMoto Utility Vehicles Municipal Sheriff Unit will allow law enforcement to deploy crowd control units utilizing the stealth of electric!  Go Saints!  WHO DAT!!

We have more emergency vehicles to be unveiled later this year, so look for additional models to be added during the coming months.

Last year was a great year for federal taxpayers purchasing electric street legal vehicles.  As expected, the federal tax benefit for 2010 is still in effect, but has undergone some significant changes.  No longer is the tax benefit based on the battery traction capacity.  The credit is now simply 10% of the cost of the vehicle, not to exceed $7500.00.

GatorMoto Utility Vehicles will keep up with breaking news on any additional changes during the year.  Last year’s huge tax benefit program took effect late in the year (June, 2009), so who knows?  Maybe we’ll see some increases later in the year for owning an electric street legal vehicle.

Welcome to the GatorMoto Utility Vehicles blog!  We hope that everyone had wonderful holidays.  Now, it’s a new year and, in business as in our personal lives, it’s time to make some resolutions.

GatorMoto’s resolution this year is to rededicate ourselves to providing the best products for our customers and our enviroment, and the best customer service in our industry.  We have looked at what we’ve done in the past and retained the things that enhance our product line and our customers’ buying experiences.  We also will be changing some things that maybe haven’t worked as well for us, and finding new and different ways to attain our goal of 100% customer satisfaction. 

To that end, we are creating this blog to bring you the latest information on issues important to the electric vehicle industry, special product features and news of interest.  This is a new and exciting venture for us and we look forward to providing you with information you can really use.
