RubeLab Green Fair & RubeRally 2010

RubeLab is a non-profit corporation headquartered in Eustis, Florida, which aids in the development of technologies to solve local and global environmental problems.  On Saturday and Sunday, March 20 and 21, 2010, they will hold their second annual festival, bringing together manufacturers and innovators of alternative means of transportation, with emphasis on electric and hybrid power, along with supporting green technology exhibits.  The Green Fair will be held at Ferran Park in downtown Eustis.  Hours are Saturday, March 20 from 11 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, March 21 from 11 am to 4 pm.

This year’s event introduces something new and fun!  The RubeRally is a “race”, open to any street legal vehicle that does not burn fossil fuel — e.g. electric, natural gas, solar, hydrogen, hybrid (must use electric only) and bicycles.  The route will cover approximately 15 miles in a triangular route (”The Golden Triangle”) from Eustis through Tavares and Mt. Dora, then back to Eustis.  These three Central Florida towns have made a commitment to going “green” and established a route for alternative energy vehicles, which includes recharging stations in each city center.

The rally winner will not be determined by speed; rather, it will involve activities along the way and questions to be answered, with clues along the route.  The entry with the most correct answers will win the rally!  The starting gun sounds on Saturday, March 20 at 2 pm for the start of the rally, and the finish will be followed by an award ceremony and dinner along the lake in Eustis.

GatorMoto Utility Vehicles will be entering two of its new Classic Roadsters (one 6-passenger and one 8-passenger) in the Rally, so come on out and cheer us on!  It’s sure to be a great event and a lot of fun for the whole family!
