The Department Of Transportation National Safety Administration (NHTSA) added a new ruling on July 1, 2005, which stated that low speed vehicles must weigh less than 3,000 pounds (gross). Since our 12 passenger vehicles weigh approximately 3,500 pounds fully loaded, many of our customers have checked with their local authorities and received exceptions for their use.
